How long should I wait to drink after taking Bactrim (Sulfamethoxazole & Trimethoprim)? - how long does trimethoprim take to leave your system

I had an ear infection, in two weeks and on an antibiotic Bactrim / Septra (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim with). Today is my last dose. Is it okay if I drink alcohol, the next day (24 hours)?

bactrim half life of approximately 10 hours. Therefore, you must wait about 20 hours after completion of the antibiotic to start the drinking. so the next day is fine. Cheers, mate!

Cal your doctor! You do not have the medicine in your body over 24 hours, so I still wait a bit before drinking. At times, the last use of certain medications, is what is necessary to remove the infection for good. When the alcohol in the bloodstream, it can not be as effective as it would be no alcohol in his system. If in doubt, always contact a doctor's office to be sure.
